What is Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is found in evergreen leaves of the Australian Malaleuca alternifolia tree.
It has the ability to kill fungi and bacteria.
Tea tree oil comes in many products such as soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, lip balms, topical creams and body oils.
What is tea tree oil used for?
Tea tree oil can be used for many things.
It can be used to aid in minor cuts and burns, acne, athlete’s foot, mild nail fungus infections, vaginal yeast infections, and lungs when added to the bathtub or vaporizer.
Is tea tree oil safe?
Some studies indicate that, yes, tea tree oil is safe and effective to use.
It is considered safe to apply it to the skin on a daily basis, but cannot be used orally or inside of the ear as this may cause damage to the inner ear.
However, just like everyone is different, some people may be allergic to tea tree oil.
It is best to start off with only placing a small amount of tea tree oil on a small portion of the skin just in case a negative reaction may occur.
It has also been known in one study that consistent use of tea tree oil may result in breast swelling in males.
Nonetheless, tea tree oil can be sold no matter how little research is conducted on the effectiveness if this particular oil.

Christopher - Interesting subject. I have seen articles wherein TTO has been suggested for use in ridding the body of external parasites. Some of the proposes uses for the oil that you described above were news to me.

Great info, I wondered how tea tree oil could be used. I have used it on a toothache though it is not advised. It was either that or taking an ice skate to the infected area. And if breast swelling occurs in males, what about females, we prefer that.
