Article Marketing for Newbies: How to Find Highly Targeted Keyword Phrases and Profit From Them.

When you create an article, you should decide whether or no t:

• There is a possibility you will obtain traffic
• How much opposition you will be up against
• Which keywords to adjust to get top results.

There are numerous ways you can explore for keyword niches.

In order to figure out whether a keyword is aggressive or not, you must go to Google and find out how many search results come up below any specific keyword.

You can obtain this by keying in your search using quotes. This gives you the EXACT search phrase.

“make money writing” = 405,000 results

Now there are a few other little tricks I personally like to do is well.

Put the words “allintitle: ” in-front of the word and search. This give you all the search results with those particular keyword phrase in the title.

Allintitle: “make money writing” = 169,000 results

See the difference? This will help you out later on, when explain about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) later on.

But this will give you a better idea about competition.

Now before I get my head bit off about the search result numbers, this was down at the time of this writing.

One thing you will learn quickly is that Google changes….A LOT!!!

Back to what I was originally talking about.

The search term “make money writing” had a result 405,000 results

Now you should look for keywords that have less then 5,000 quotes results to start off. This is perfect when beginning with article marketing.

For the sake of this particular Hub someone would use a “long-tail” keyword phrase like:

“make money writing with HubPages” = 3,420 results

allintitle: "make money writing with HubPages" = 25 results

What do you think your chances are for getting ranked on the top with “make money writing with Hubpages” compared to “make money writing”? Pretty good...huh

Keep your focus on the lower competition when you are starting off. You don't wan to get all frustrated because you can't rank well and give up. Believe me many people do, and it is a shame because they lack the "know-how".

Next, what you will need to do is take a glance at the highest ranked natural listings beneath the search term you used. Let’s say the sites on the 1st page of the natural listings have a smaller page rank than the article website you are attempting to get accepted to.
